Chip Seeal will be applied tomorrow. Minor traffic delays are expected.
The Contractor will first street sweep the improvement areas. This will be followed by a layer of asphalt emulsion oil, followed by the application of grantie trap rock. After traffic has effectively compacted the trap rock into the oil, a final sweep will be done to remove any remaining loose rock. The final step will be an application of asphalt fog seal. The fog seal works as a binder to prevent the trap rock from coming loose and providing an aesthetic like new road appearance. This typically happens within 5 days after placement of the chip seal. Street striping will be placed 5-7 days after the fog seal is applied.
